Hello. This is ADOR. We would like to inform you about the legal measures we are taking to protect NewJeans’ rights. Since NewJeans’ debut, we have been consistently monitoring and taking legal action against malicious online posts targeting the artists. We continuously collect evidence of serious violations of our artists’ rights on domestic and international websites and social media channels, including derogatory remarks about their nationality or appearance, the dissemination of false information (fake news), the invasion of their privacy, and the use of malicious insults and derogatory terms. We are also pursuing legal action along with prompt deletion requests. As a result, investigations are currently underway into suspects who have been reported for defamation and use of communication media for obscene purposes. Some non-member users of DCInside, who use what is known as “floating usernames,” have also been identified and referred to the respective jurisdictional police stations. In the case of foreign platforms like YouTube, we are securing personal information through U.S. courts and then proceeding with domestic legal procedures. We are also taking strong action against a malicious YouTuber who repeatedly created videos that could cause sexual humiliation to the members of NewJeans. The YouTuber sought a settlement during the civil lawsuit, but we firmly refused. On June 25, 2025, in the civil damages lawsuit filed against the YouTuber, the court determined that the defendant’s actions constituted a serious violation of personality rights. As a result, the court issued a partial judgment ordering the defendant to pay a substantial amount in damages to each NewJeans member. We will continue to respond strongly to similar cases in the future with the same zero-tolerance policy. Similarly, in the criminal proceedings concerning the aforementioned YouTuber, we have determined that a heavier penalty is required regarding the decision to conditionally suspend prosecution, and we have filed an appeal to this effect. We will continue to respond rigorously to ensure that the YouTuber receives an appropriate penalty. We are also continuing to respond strongly to deepfake crimes. We are closely cooperating with investigative agencies regarding the production and distribution of false video content targeting the artists. Many suspects who created and distributed deepfakes targeting NewJeans members through channels such as Telegram have received severe penalties, including imprisonment, confiscation of assets, community service orders, educational program attendance orders, probation, and restrictions on employment in institutions related to children, adolescents, and individuals with disabilities. Notably, one suspect attempted the crime using sophisticated methods, such as sending deepfake videos through Proton Mail, which is known to be difficult to track, but was apprehended following active investigations by law enforcement. Your interest and reports are of great help in our legal response. If you have any information regarding the infringement of our artists’ rights, please report it through the “HYBE Artist Rights Violation Report Website (protect.hybecorp.com).” We are always grateful for your unwavering love and support. We will continue working to ensure that the rights of our artists are fully protected. Thank you.
